Atmosphere Control

Q: Does the humidity in the room matter?

A: Yes.  The humidity is very important and can cause some serious problems if it gets out of control.  It is recommended that the humidity be kept around 40 - 50%.  You can check this by buying a temperature gauge with a humidity sensor on it, which are available on greengoldhydro.com.

Plants release water through the stomata on their leaves and will raise the humidity in the room, especially if it has bad air circulation.  High humidity allows  the easy growth and production of mildew, mold and fungi that can be very harmful to the plants.  High humidity is the ideal environment for growth of these diseases.

A simple way to control the humidity in your grow room is to install a dehumidifier.  Dehumdifiers are available at local home improvement stores and range in price from 50 to 200 dollars.  They pull water out of the air and can be set to provide the ideal amount of humidity in the room.  Therefore allowing your plants to grow to their full potential.
